Venice is one very beautiful city. What makes the city unique is that it’s basically an island. Venice is the capital of northern Italy’s Veneto region. It is built on more than 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. It has no roads, just canals. Including the Grand Canal thoroughfare.
Most people don’t travel with cars there, they travel on boats, canoes etc. There are more than 150 canals in Venice. The S-shaped Grand Canal is the biggest and splits the city in two. Venice has a very small population compared to other cities , it has 261,905 people. Venice has few names it goes by at times as well , some are “City of canals” , “City of bridges” and “The floating city”.
